The environment
|
The PunaMusta concern has been awarded the Swan (Nordic) ecolabel. The label is a sign of the commitment of the printing press to minimising its environmental load, and it covers the production of both magazines and printed advertising materials. All methods and chemicals used in production meet the requirements of the Swan ecolabel.
The Swan label can be put on all printed materials whose paper is Swan-compliant, i.e. is on the ecolabelling list kept by Motiva Services Oy.

PunaMusta has also been granted the Chain of Custody certificate for wood, which entitles it to use the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) label on its printed products. Putting the PEFC label on a printed product requires that the paper ordering process be PEFC-certified. The PEFC certificate has nothing to do with printing processes, but indicates that the wood used in the production of the paper has been harvested from certified forests and does not originate from ‘suspicious’ areas.
